And so it begins...

When playing in bands my instructions were quite simple - sit at the back, hit everything as hard as you can in more or less the same tempo as the actual musicians stood in front of you. So, I did - other band members quickly learnt to dodge errant drumsticks, or parts thereof, which  frequently launched themselves toward them throughout the set (usually at head height). Finesse was never my forte, neither was great technique, if I’m being honest.

Many, many moons later, time, and joint pain has taken its toll. Playing live is not really an option at the moment, so now it’s time to explore a new path. How about a solo project? Okay, if you insist. I have always been fascinated by the recording process, and the added bonus is that I can do it whenever I feel like it. No more singers turning up late, or drunk, or both, no more guitarists throwing a tantrum because the other guitarist has more lead breaks than them, or nobody has told them how good they are for at least an hour, no more freezing cold rehearsal spaces (that aren’t available at the times you actually need them). I will do things my way, at my own pace. Sounds like a plan to me.

This website is a focal point where I aim to place finished songs - possibly some works in progress could work their way here once they become listenable. Maybe not, I haven't decided yet. There's no rush to make that choice - I need to get some songs to a listenable state first.

I would like to thank you for showing an interest, and I would also like to commend you for taking time out of your busy life to read my musings.

 Take care, fellow Earthlings
